Thanks so much, I'll keep an eye out for it. In black the Topsman could regain the hipster status that it had years ago in plaid. If either come in XXL, I'll buy one for my son.

I bought a Topsman in BLACK, soon before the model was dropped and replaced by a dopey, gusseted "country and western" (not the Pendelton name) jacket. It is really the one jacket I can't do without. I throw it on over blue or black jeans, or with black slacks in the evening. Being unconstructed and of light, quality wool, it is unequaled as a travel jacket; compact, wrinkle free and always the right temperature. And being black it looks sharp anywhere. I have had an ebay search running for over a year and none have shown up in black.

So bring back the Topsman, in the original fine fabric, not the cheaper, heavier material, and in Black! The world is full of grey plaid.

I've got a Topster similar to the red one above. Unfortunately, it's missing one of the buttons on the front. Do you folks sell replacement buttons? If not, what would be a good place to get some? Also can you tell me the size of the buttons on the front of that coat in the picture? I don't know the proper way to measure that. So before I start guessing, I figured I'd ask at the source.

I loved the Topsman! It was perfect for my life as a teacher and academic. I could throw the Topsman on, add a tie (or not)--and I was ready to go. Yes, I waited to buy the Topsman on sale. (I was never a rich teacher.) Please bring the Topsman back! (In larger sizes, too.)

I bought a Topster at the Navy Exchange in Sasebo, Japan in 1970-71, shortly before I finished by four-year tour of duty. It was in a tweedy earth tone plaid which, to my recollection, was almost a sport jacket weight but totally unconstructed.

I recall taking it as a my "dress" jacket during a two-month visit to Ireland and Scotland in 1972 and wearing it at work in a high end outdoor clothing and equipment retailer during 1972-74 (yes, we sold Pendleton products). I wore it occasionally on campus as I finished my undergrad degree during 1974-76 and recall being treated better by the campus library staff whenever I wore it because they took me for a faculty member instead of a grubby undergrad. After that I was - sorry to admit - tired of it and gave it to my father who wore it at least through the 1980s. At some point he must have disposed of it because it was not among his possessions when he passed away.

Glad to see the Topster back in Pendleton's lineup. If you continue to offer this style I'd like one - or more - in the more subtle, tweed jacket type fabric like the Topsman illustrated above.
